We decided to go
to a place where there is happiness all around. A place where you’ll feel like
a kid again. A place that we call “peryahan”. Watch as we enjoy the rides and
amusement in the peryahan located at Pulo, Cabuyao City. Hope you enjoy
watching! ;)

My Family and Friends
Family and Friends: A Gift That Lasts Forever
”Families
are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions yet our roots
remain as one.”
My
father is Alfredo Andrade and my mother is Teodora Andrade. My father works as
a tricycle driver, and my mother is a housewife. I have three siblings. They
are Aldrin, Allan, and Arrianne. We live
at Arabella Homes, Pulo, Cabuyao City, Laguna.
My Family <3
My family may
not be perfect, but I can say that I am very happy to have them. We love each
other so much. Though misunderstandings are inevitable, at the end of the day,
we always reconcile with each other.
We
like to watch movies together when all of us are at home. Our parents always
support us. They guide us so that we will have a better future. They only want
what’s best for us so I understand if they get mad when we make mistakes.
I cannot imagine a life without my family by my side.
They are very important to me because they are part of my life. Without my
family, a large part of my life would be missing.
I treat my
friends as my family. It’s the friends we meet along the way that help us
appreciate the journey. I have made many friends and I can say that most of
them are true.
My friends play
a very important role in my life. They encourage me when I’m sad, they are
always there to support me. They listen and help me when I have problems. Aaron, Maui, JM, Jim, Jerome, and Vanvan are my first friends. We are neighbors. We are friends since we were kids. Hannah is also a very good friend and we treat each other as siblings. She's a friend that will always care and be there for me.
I’ve known some
of my true friends since elementary. Martin, Alvin, Rev, and I were classmates
since Grade 1. Kynn transferred to our school when we are in Grade 5. We are classmates until Grade 10. But sadly, I
got separated from them in Grade 11, yet we are still on the same school. We always
see each other and bond together. We call our group Buto Buto Gang because most
of our classmates say that we are so thin. Emman, Ivan, John Mark, and Neil are
also my friends.
Buto Buto Gang and Friends
Pew Pew Friends
Lenard, Em, Charlene, and Ryian are my friends since elementary. We have made many memories together. Though we are on different schools now, we will always be friends.
Tropang Kusina
They are my new-found friends. We call our group Tropang Kusina. Martin, Alvin, Rev, Eli, Karla, AC, David, Pau, and Lynneth are some of the friends that I am comfortable with.
I want to
mention all of my friends, but they are too many. Even though I won’t mention
them here, they will always know that they’re my friends and they will be always
part of my life.
I am very thankful to have my friends. They
multiply the joy and divide the sadness. I am blessed to have faithful and true
friends. Friends are never apart. Maybe
in distance but never in heart.

ALL ABOUT ME
THROUGH THE TIMES
Hi! I’m
Alfredo A. Andrade Jr. My friends call me Alfred. I was born on March 24, 2001
at Sta. Cruz Provincial Hospital. I am sixteen years old. My father is Alfredo
M. Andrade. He works as a tricycle driver. My mother is Teodora A. Andrade and
she is a housewife. I have two brothers and one sister. They are Aldrin, Allan,
and Arrianne. All of our names start with letter A except my mother.
When I was 4 years old
We
lived at OMV2 San Isidro, Cabuyao, Laguna and I made many friends there. But
suddenly, we moved to Arabella Homes, Pulo, which I currently live in. At
first, I am very sad about this for the reason that I’ll be separated with my
close friends. As time passes by, I learned to accept it and just be happy.
I studied
pre-school at St. Aloysius in Cabuyao, and at Pulo Elementary School in
elementary. When I was in Grade One, I am a very lazy kid. I always want to stay
at home and play. I don’t want to study that time. But I realized the
importance of education so I did my best to make up with those mistakes. Then I
studied high school in Pulo National High School. I’ve made many good friends
and memories there. Going to different schools and places with my close friends
to compete for some activities like Campus Journalism is the experience that I’ll
never forget. Now, I am currently studying at System Technology Institute (STI)
and I chose the STEM strand.
Playing
computer games and eating are some of my hobbies. Watching horror movies with
my siblings is what I do during my free time. When I was a child, I remember
myself asking my brother to edit my picture on a Power Ranger. I really like to
watch Kamen Rider and Super Sentai or Power Rangers back then, and even now. In
fact, I still collect some toys of them.
Throwback picture when I asked my
brother to edit my picture :D
My
motto in life is “ Lahat ng problema ay may solusyon. Kung walang solusyon, wag
nang problemahin.” I am a very optimistic person. I always stay positive when
challenges come. I look at the brighter side of life and I do not let problems
affect my happiness.
My
dream is to become an engineer because my brother inspired me. I want to pursue
this to help my family. I study hard so that I will have a better future.
Right
now, I live a happy life with my family and friends, I am very thankful for my
sixteen years of existence in this world and I hope that I will create more
memories with my loved ones. I’ll enjoy every moments in my life for I will
cherish those memories that will last forever.

Rene Descartes
RENE DESCARTES
Biography
Philosopher
René Descartes was born on March 31, 1596, in La Haye en Touraine, a small town
in central France, which has since been renamed after him to honor its most
famous son. He was the youngest of three children, and his mother, Jeanne
Brochard, died within his first year of life. His father, Joachim, a council
member in the provincial parliament, sent the children to live with their
maternal grandmother, where they remained even after he remarried a few years
later. But he was very concerned with good education and sent René, at age 8,
to boarding school at the Jesuit college of Henri IV in La Flèche, several
miles to the north, for seven years.
Descartes was a good student, although it is thought that he might have
been sickly, since he didn’t have to abide by the school’s rigorous schedule
and was instead allowed to rest in bed until midmorning. The subjects he
studied, such as rhetoric and logic and the “mathematical arts,” which included
music and astronomy, as well as metaphysics, natural philosophy and ethics,
equipped him well for his future as a philosopher. So did spending the next
four years earning a baccalaureate in law at the University of Poitiers. Some
scholars speculate that he may have had a nervous breakdown during this time.
Descartes later added theology and medicine to his studies. But he
eschewed all this, “resolving to seek no knowledge other than that of which
could be found in myself or else in the great book of the world,” he wrote much
later in Discourse on the Method of Rightly Conducting
the Reason and Seeking Truth in the Sciences, published in 1637.
So he traveled, joined the army for a brief time, saw some battles and
was introduced to Dutch scientist and philosopher Isaac Beeckman, who would
become for Descartes a very influential teacher. A year after graduating from
Poitiers, Descartes credited a series of three very powerful dreams or visions
with determining the course of his study for the rest of his life.

Self-control: Key to Success
“CONQUER YOURSELF NOT THE WORLD”
Self-control: Key to Success
Having self-control can help us to be
successful in life. One of the things involved here is our discipline.
Discipline is one of the most important things we should develop in our lives.
It is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. According to John Maxwell,
motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing. Without discipline,
we’ll never achieve progress towards what we really want and I am sure that you
could benefit much from being more disciplines. These are some of the things
that we should remember to conquer ourselves and achieve self-discipline.
First of all, we must have willpower. We
must have strong determination. Resist short-term temptations in order to meet
long term goals. We must be determined in achieving our goal and do not let
laziness get in our way.
Secondly, we must always remember that conflicts
in our minds are tougher than the conflicts in our environment. This means that
our greatest battles will always be with ourselves rather than any other
circumstances. We will have a hard time surpassing a challenge if we don’t
truly know our personality. We can achieve something if we have a greater
understanding of ourselves.
In addition, we must continue to learn.
To conquer yourself, you must constantly learn. Learn from our mistakes for
they have the power to turn us into something better than we were before. We
should learn from our own experiences that will help us become successful.
Most
importantly, believe in yourself. You know yourself better than anyone else in
this world. You know your capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Nothing will
work if you’ll not believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, no
one will. Trust that you can make your goals happen and overcome the voice of
self-doubt. Being yourself is not a bad thing. It only means that you are brave
enough to be yourself. Each of us has different perspectives and we cannot
easily change it. The only person that you can control is yourself. Philippians
4:13, I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Self-control is one of the most
important skills that we can learn to harness. Be inwardly strong and always
believe in yourself. If we apply these in our lives and have self-control,
we’ll be on your way to achievement and success.
